How we handle personal data
This privacy statement applies to all personal data that the Foundation processes about guests, companions, volunteers and donors.
1. Who we are
Stichting Rijden voor Geluk, WishAmbulance Haaksbergen and surroundings (hereinafter: the Foundation) is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement. We are based at Schoolkaterdijk 51, 7482 PX Haaksbergen and registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 90194276. You can reach us at info@wensambulancehaaksbergen.nl or 06-82674035.
2. Which data we process
We only process the personal data needed to carry out our objective. Depending on your contact with us, this may include:
- Name, address, place of residence and other contact details (phone number, email address)
- Health and medical data needed to carry out a wish ride safely
- Data you provide yourself via a wish request, volunteer sign-up or contact form
- Bank details in the case of a donation or sponsorship
- Details you provide for a donation certificate, such as name and email address and, for a business donation, company name, address, contact person and Chamber of Commerce number
3. Special categories of personal data
To carry out a wish ride safely, we sometimes process health data. We only do this with your explicit consent and solely to the extent necessary for the ride or activity in question. This data is handled with extra care and not kept longer than necessary.
4. Why we process your data
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- Assessing, planning and carrying out wish rides and activities
- Maintaining contact with guests, companions, volunteers and donors
- Handling donations and sponsorship
- Complying with legal and administrative obligations
5. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of your consent, to perform an agreement or arrangement, to comply with a legal obligation, or on the grounds of a legitimate interest (for example, organising our activities).
6. Sharing with third parties
We never sell your data to third parties and do not share it for commercial purposes. We only provide data to third parties when necessary to carry out our activities or to comply with a legal obligation. To handle donations we use an external payment provider, and to send emails (such as a donation certificate) an external email provider. With parties that process data on our behalf, we make appropriate arrangements to safeguard the protection of your data.
7. Retention period
We do not keep personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for as long as the law requires. We delete health data as soon as the ride or activity in question has been completed and there is no longer any need to keep it. We keep data relating to donations and donation certificates in our records for as long as required by tax and administrative obligations.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Only authorised volunteers and board members have access to the data they need for their task.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have various rights regarding your personal data:
- The right to access the data we process about you
- The right to rectification of inaccurate data
- The right to erasure of your data
- The right to withdraw your consent
- The right to restrict or object to the processing
- The right to portability of your data

10. Photos and video
During rides and activities, photos or videos may be taken. We use this material solely with consent for promotional or informational purposes. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending a message to the Foundation.

We may update this privacy statement from time to time. You will always find the most current version on this page.
